Council Election To Be Held On May 12
Teaneck, N.J. – Teaneck Deputy Mayor Mark Schwartz will be seeking reelection on a slate with Planning Board members Karen Lew Orgen and Michael Pagan, on May 12th. The three candidates have joined together because they believe in Moving Teaneck Forward by holding the line on taxes with a zero percent budget, investing in our downtown districts and parks, and protecting our houses of worship.
Schwartz, Orgen and Pagan pledge to work with a unifying voice that is solely focused on increasing the quality of life for all Teaneck residents.
“I am proud to announce that I am running for reelection with Planning Board Members Karen Lew Orgen and Michael Pagan because they share my desire to keep Moving Teaneck Forward. Teaneck is moving in the right direction and it is important that we keep it headed that way.”
- Deputy Mayor Mark Schwartz
Last month, Teaneck Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin announced that he will not be seeking reelection. This May, he is endorsing Schwartz, Orgen and Pagan for Council. Hameeduddin and Schwartz have previously run together and accomplished a great deal together over the years.
Their accomplishments include:
- Improved employee working conditions and zero employee lawsuits during their tenure together
- Saving hundreds of thousands of dollars by joining the Joint Insurance Fund
- Improved infrastructure through rehabbing the municipal complex and building required venues such as the sportsplex
- Paving a record number of roads
- Creating millions of dollars in new ratables
- and most importantly — they created five Zero-Increase budgets in a row.
“I am supporting Deputy Mayor Mark Schwartz and Karen Lew Orgen and Michael Pagan in their bid for Teaneck Council. They have all served the township with distinction in their various roles and deserve the opportunity to continue serving.”
- Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin.
“Whether in my service on the Planning Board or the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where I’ve served as a Life Member and the first female President, I’ve continued to give back to this community. I look forward to working with members of council to enhance services and maintain the Teaneck I’ve lived in for the past 46 years.”
- Karen Lew Orgen
“I am proud to be part of a team that works together to help keep Moving Teaneck Forward with low taxes and better municipal services. Under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Schwartz, local government continues to do more and more for our children and their families. It is important that we keep that going with the right team around him.”
- Michael Pagan
