  • Supporting our small businesses, through marketing, grants, and collaboration
  • Expanding affordable housing opportunities by requiring every developer to set aside 20% of the new units built as affordable and creating new senior housing
  • Teaneck continues to be rated by Moody’s as a testament to the financial well being of the township. Current rating Aa2, the second highest bond rating a municipality can have.
  • Lowest Net Debt* in the Region

    * Net Debt is expressed as a percentage of equalized valuation and reported on Annual Debt Statements from surrounding communities

2. Recreation and Parks

  • Continued investment in our parks, upgrades of facilities like restrooms and fields and The Rodda Center
  • Expand inclusive recreation opportunities for our seniors and children alike
  • Create a park master plan to guide our investments in the parks
  • Explore new recreation opportunities such as kayaking in the Hackensack River
  • Bringing back Teaneck Day with activities for everyone including fireworks
3. Modernizing and enhancing Municipal Services
  • Expand digital municipal services through SDL and RecPro so our residents can engage on their time and have more access to what is going on
  • Expanding the recycling cans on wheels for our seniors and differently abled communities
  • Explore a more robust recycling program, including food waste, Styrofoam and more frequent collections
4. Investing in Our Community
  • Increased the number of roads paved year over year for a total of 18.71 miles paved over four years (an increase of 11% over the prior four years)
  • Ensuring our public safety personnel like fire and police are fully staffed and prepared for the call
  • Supporting community resources like the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corp (TVAC)
  • Funded the largest capital investment for the upcoming Library renovation in Township history
  • The Township was the first in the state to establish a vaccination distribution site through partnership with Holy Name Hospital providing 157,000 vaccines at the Rodda Center while prioritizing the Township’s seniors
  • Bringing back the 911 center to Teaneck PD by using forfeiture funds at no taxpayer expense

Deputy Mayor Elie Y. Katz has served the community of Teaneck for the last 25 years as a Member of the Council, Mayor, and is currently serving as Deputy Mayor. As a business owner, Elie understands how the Council can best encourage economic growth and development for Teaneck without raising taxes on the residents.

Councilman Keith Kaplan

Councilman Keith Kaplan is running for his second term on the Teaneck Council to continue building on his successes in improving the quality of life for all Teaneck Residents. Keith’s work as a Law Clerk at one of the most prestigious law firms in the country provides him the opportunity to assist residents with understanding Teaneck’s laws.

Desiree Ramos Reiner

Desiree Ramos Reiner currently serves on the Teaneck Planning Board and is an active member of the Teaneck PTA. Desiree’s extensive experience as a Non-Profit Communications Executive and serving her community working for both the United States Senate and House of Representatives provides her the hands-on experience needed to make an immediate impact as a Member of the Teaneck Council.

Latisha Garcia

Latisha Garcia serves as the troop leader for the Girl Scouts of Teaneck and prides herself on her service work volunteering for organizations such as the Oasis Women’s Home, and Helping Hands of Teaneck. Latisha’s experience working as an Assistant Controller with fashion power houses including Gucci provide her with a deep understanding of finance, design, and branding that will serve Teaneck well.
